▸ The Vice Stocks: Drugs, Dopamine & Guns -

Legal drugs (alcohol, nicotine, marijuana, sugar, gambling, social media apps), semi-illegal drugs (cocaine, opioids), guns - all addictive, many killers of large numbers of humans every year. Surprisingly, the returns on the stocks of many of these vice-based stocks are horrible. You will get more joy using their products than buying their stocks. I mean, how can you not make good profits selling addiction?

▸ Stocks That Can't Beat SPY/GLD -

There are many companies with such incompetent management that across the decades, they cannot outperform the SPY, and worse, can't outperform GLD (gold) (which generally outperforms the SPY). Zombie companies. Non-innovative companies (including many with crappy patents). For long term investing, avoid these stocks (and most of the financial stories hyping them). For short-term investing, casinos are just as profitable with the occasional free drink.

Why we mostly ignore fundamental analysis, technical indicators, candlesticks, artificial intelligence, and avoid zombie companies (can't beat SPY/GLD) for long term trades. For one reason - rigorous statistical studies show that most of them don't work.

A review of trading systems we don't use, but you are welcome to try yourself. Tons of such systems are posted on the Internet. We find ones, clean up the code, and make it available to you all.

KukaXoco Finance provides a collection of interesting economics and finance charts. While we don't use them for trading, we do like to contemplate them from time to time to get a 'vibe' on the markets. We hope you enjoy as well! Charts include: Dow-gold ratio, interest rates across the decades, gold versus inflation, insane earning estimates, the Federal Reserves's inability to forecast GDP, maxxed out credit cards, more gold charts, CAPE valuations pumped up by government spending, bitcoin's former correlation with central bank money printing, about 90% of all equity funds underperform their benchmark indexes, etc.

  Investopedia has two sets of articles on options trading well worth reading: itroductory articles: Options Trading Strategy & Education, and advanced articles: Advanced Options Trading Concepts.
• 36 Popular Options Strategies:
  OptionAlpha has a nice introduction to 36 popular options strategies. This includes: a simple chart of the strategy payoff, how to enter and exit a strategy trade, effects of time decay and implied volatility, and trade management.
• Option Strategies - 26 proven options strategies:
  a 32 page booklet freely available from the Australian Stock Exchange, complimenting the OptionAlpha strategy guide. Nicely, for each strategy, the Aussie's discuss an issue way TOO many options writers ignore: margin. Interactive Brokers has a very good explanation of all things margin at: US Options Margin Requirements.
• Technical Analysis of Stocks and Commodities:
  An excellent monthly magazine in English for technical analysis traders, including an educational column on options trading by Jay Kaeppel. For $90/year, you get the printed magazine, as well as full access to their archives. A very valuable resource. A similar website, in Spanish, is Hispa Trading.
